Stray Dog Rescued Just Before Major Storm Hits

Stray Dog Rescued Just Before the Storm Strikes

Lastest Updated February 13, 2025

Hope For Paws, a non-profit animal rescue group based in Los Angeles, had been receiving calls about an abandoned pup living in a park for months.

When Loreta Frankonyte and Eldad Hagar went to look for him, they couldn't find him.

But, with a major storm approaching, Eldad decided to return the next morning.

This time, luck was on their side, and they were able to rescue the frightened pup just in time.

Alone and scared, the dog had been wandering the streets, but thanks to the compassion and urgency of the rescue team, he was brought to safety before the storm could hit.

This powerful rescue story serves as a reminder of how every moment counts when it comes to saving animals in need and how adopting can give a dog like this a chance at a better life.

A Perfectly Timed Rescue

When Eldad Hagar of Hope For Paws arrived at the park in search of the abandoned dog, he spotted her standing confused on the sidewalk.

Using treats to win her trust, Eldad quickly got the sweet pup to eat from his hands, allowing him to slip a leash over her head.

Though she was startled at first, she soon calmed down, and Eldad was able to pick her up and bring her to safety.

His friend, Hayley Mysliwiec, suggested naming her Jolene, and the rescue mission was underway.

Getting Her the Care She Deserved

On the way to the shelter, the storm that had been predicted suddenly hit.

Just in time, Jolene was safely in the car, avoiding the harsh weather.

“The timing couldn’t have been more perfect,” said Eldad.

“She didn’t have to sleep outside in the storm.”

Though the car ride caused Jolene some nausea, nobody was upset when she threw up, and she was treated with nothing but compassion.

The next day, Jolene underwent a successful surgery, setting her on the path to recovery.

A New Beginning with Love

As Jolene’s health improved, The Animal Rescue Mission (ARM) stepped in to foster her.

They provided a loving and caring environment that helped her recover smoothly.

Jolene regained her strength and was soon ready for her forever home.

She quickly adapted to her new family, finding comfort in a warm home and forming a special bond with her new furry sibling, Meg.

A Happy Future Awaits

Jolene’s story is a powerful reminder of the importance of rescue efforts.

Thanks to the timely actions of her rescuers and the support of ARM, Jolene now has a loving family, a safe home, and a bright future ahead.

If you’re interested in helping dogs like Jolene, consider adopting from your local shelter or donating to animal rescue organizations.

Your support can make a world of difference for these deserving pups.
