Pup Found in Washing Machine Drum

Abandoned Pup in Fake Shelter Gets Lifesaving Rescue

Lastest Updated February 13, 2025

Saving dogs is a mission for many rescuers, bringing them deep joy.

Unfortunately, some view it merely as a business.

In San Diego, California, the dedicated team from The Animal Pad took swift action upon learning about over 300 dogs living in terrible conditions at a fraudulent rescue.

Their arrival revealed a heartbreaking scene with countless canines lacking food and space to roam freely.

Amidst this chaos was My Girl, found helplessly trapped in an old washing machine drum.

Such situations highlight the urgent need for compassionate care and responsible rescuing practices.

Rescued From Cruel Conditions

The moment rescuers first encountered My Girl, she appeared completely defeated.

Weakness and illness made her refuse food and water.

Erica, the director of The Animal Pad, along with her dedicated team worked around the clock to rescue My Girl and 397 other dogs from the shelter.

A wave of support from the community followed as applications flooded in to help these animals find homes.

Erica recalled feeling a mix of hope and urgency while watching videos sent by fellow directors who were caring for these dogs at a distance.

Witnessing this dedication reaffirmed that lives could change through collective effort and compassion.

Immediate hospitalization was necessary after the black dog tested positive for distemper, a serious illness.

The dedicated team worked tirelessly to provide her with the best treatment possible.

They named her My Girl, inspired by their daily rendition of The Temptations’ classic song during her care.

With loving attention and appropriate medical support, she gradually began to recover and regain her strength.

Each day marked a step closer to health as My Girl’s spirit shone through despite the challenges she faced.

Her journey highlighted both resilience and hope in difficult times.

Running Around All Day

A remarkable change took place in just 41 days.

My Girl, once unwell, blossomed into a lively companion.

The California rescue team struggled to accept she had been sick because her joyful nature shone through so brightly.

Her strong spirit and gentle personality played a big role in her recovery, allowing her to emerge from shyness and embrace life fully.

This journey showcased the power of resilience and love in healing.

Everyone around could see the difference she made in their lives as well.

My Girl began a new chapter after her treatment at the Animal Pad facility.

Adoption events soon became part of her routine, but a special moment awaited her.

A volunteer was captivated by this sweet dog and decided to foster her.

The true turning point occurred when My Girl met the foster's parents, who instantly adored her.

Love blossomed right away, leading to an unforgettable connection that formed quickly and deeply.

Now she has found a loving forever home where she truly belongs.

My Girl enjoys a wonderful life with her new family.

She shares her days with caring humans and a furry sibling, filling their home with joy.

After spending time in captivity, she now has plenty of space to run freely on their large property.

Erica notes that the sweet dog gets to play and run around all day long while staying healthy and well-cared for.

This happy pup truly found her perfect match in the loving environment they created together.

Happiness shines through every moment spent in this lively home.
