Comfort was just a tiny three-month-old puppy when she was cruelly cast aside from her first home, her only sanctuary thus far. Fortunately, a compassionate bystander observed this heartbreaking event and rescued her, bringing Comfort to a shelter in Los Angeles, California for safety and care.

Upon arriving at the shelter, a puppy that would later be named Comfort showed signs of severe neglect. She arrived underweight and dehydrated, refusing to eat any food offered.

Fleas had taken over her tiny body as well. The poor pup trembled in fear and curled up tightly in her kennel, avoiding eye contact with anyone around her and shying away from their touch.

Witnessing this little one's distress left the shelter staff feeling heartbroken. Ashley Pittman, who dedicates time volunteering at both the Los Angeles shelter and A Purposeful Rescue, an organization devoted to animal welfare, felt compelled to assist Comfort.

In hopes of finding a foster home for the frightened dog, she shared a video on her Instagram account that captured Comfort's fearful state. The touching footage quickly made its way onto TikTok where it gained significant attention online.

One viewer felt moved by what they saw; they reached out to Pittman along with A Purposeful Rescue almost immediately after watching it. It was communicated that this individual wanted to provide temporary care for the timid pup without delay.

Soon enough, Comfort transitioned into their fostering program where she began living with someone dedicated entirely to helping overcome all of her fears while nurturing her potential as an affectionate companion.
