The dog, now called Lisa, appeared to be in dire condition. Rescuers recognized that her suffering could not have developed over just a few days; it was clear she had endured neglect for an extended period of time.

A sense of injustice lingered as Sabine mentioned how heartbreaking it was for someone to abandon her this way. Tied up and left behind, Lisa was unable to follow the person who discarded her carelessly.

Without delay, rescuers took Lisa straight to the veterinary clinic where comprehensive examinations were performed from head to tail.

An intravenous line was placed, and the animal remained at the veterinary clinic for continuous monitoring. This careful supervision ensured that any changes in health could be promptly addressed.

The dedicated staff closely watched over the pet's condition day and night to provide necessary care. Observations made during this time were crucial for recovery decisions.

Constant attention helped ensure that any signs of distress were quickly managed, allowing for a better chance of healing.

Just two days after arriving at the clinic, signs of improvement in Lisa’s condition were evident. More energy was noticeable as she joyfully greeted everyone with a wagging tail.

By the end of five days, her recovery allowed her to return home to our safe haven. Upon reaching this new environment, some initial uncertainty surrounded Lisa; she seemed slightly dazed by all the affection directed towards her since it was unfamiliar territory for her.

Fortunately, it didn’t take long before she recognized that such kindness represented a better way of living. With each day that passed, you could see how much brighter and happier Lisa became, reflected in the sparkle of her eyes.

Within just ten days at the shelter, this lovely pup blossomed beautifully; weight gain became apparent while her once-thin coat began regrowing vibrantly again. Remarkably enough, four weeks later revealed an incredible milestone: Lisa had beaten cancer!

She adapted quickly and formed connections with everyone around her.

Sabine mentioned that Lisa started to thrive in this new environment, transforming into a lively young dog known for her kind and affectionate demeanor.
