Dog Covered in Toxic Paint Overcomes Fear With the Help of Rescuers
It is disheartening to recognize that many individuals still overlook the feelings of animals. A heartbreaking scene unfolded when a kind stranger came across a small Pit Bull, her fur marred by toxic green paint, in an abandoned area near Los Angeles.
This unfortunate dog, later given the name Clover, was in distress due to her condition. Fortunately for Clover, she received immediate attention and was taken to North Valley Veterinary Center where compassionate professionals were ready to provide her with the necessary treatment and care she desperately needed.
Explore how kindness can change lives and discover more about Clover's inspiring journey ahead.
Safe at Last After So Much Struggle
Upon her arrival at North Valley Veterinary Clinic, Clover underwent a comprehensive examination followed by immediate treatment for her severely burned skin caused by harmful paint.
According to Love Leo Rescue, two medicated baths were administered, successfully removing the majority of the toxic substance.
It was mentioned that she is receiving plenty of affection and being spoiled during this time.
Soon after, the noxious green paint was completely eliminated, allowing Clover to reveal her genuine beauty once again.
After just two weeks under hospital care, Clover's skin showed remarkable improvement. Yet, she continued to struggle with her ability to trust others.
Recognizing this challenge, Sasha Abelson, the director of Love Leo Rescue, stepped in to help Clover see that kindness still exists among people. Upon arriving at her new foster home, Clover displayed sweetness but remained withdrawn and timid.
Abelson understood that rebuilding trust would require patience and time on both their parts as they began this journey together.
After spending time with Clover, Abelson recognized that she needed to join a loving family to thrive. Clover, approximately 2 years old and weighing around 45 pounds, has shown herself to be friendly with other dogs and is well-trained in the house.
She enjoys walks on a leash without pulling and would flourish best in an environment filled with calmness along with access to a yard for playtime. A household featuring another gentle dog could complement her personality perfectly.
The North Valley vet expressed hope that this sweet girl finds her forever home just in time for the holiday season, emphasizing how much love she deserves after all she's endured.
Settling Into Their Forever Family
Abelson took the initiative to contact a couple she was familiar with, Eric and Aubrey, suggesting they meet Clover.
If there was a good connection among them, they could think about welcoming her into their household.
At first, Clover wasn't fond of Eric.
As time passed together though, it became clear that he truly had a kind heart and would significantly improve her quality of life.
Time progressed from days to weeks, and then into months. It became evident that this wonderful couple was the ideal companion for a unique dog.
They provided her with ample time and freedom necessary for rebuilding trust while recovering from earlier hardships. Witnessing her thrive in an environment filled with love truly brings joy, as noted by Abelson.
Eric and Aubrey found themselves utterly enchanted by Clover, realizing they needed her presence in their lives. Today, this small family cherishes each moment together, helping Clover move beyond her challenging history and fully welcome the promising future ahead of her!
