A Life-Saving Mission Begins

The vehicle came to a halt, and the team stepped out with caution.

Loreta Frankonyte, one of the rescuers, picked up a hamburger and approached the puppy carefully, wishing to win his trust with the tasty treat.

As she neared him, he became frightened and darted away into a secluded spot.

Recognizing that this little one was quite skittish and realizing they were on one of Los Angeles’ most bustling freeways, the rescuers took action by creating a barrier around him to prevent any chance of running into traffic.

With the pup secure, Loreta approached the fence with a leash in hand, determined to rescue him once more.

The frightened puppy attempted to escape again, seeking refuge under a cart.

Thankfully, Loreta successfully placed the leash around his neck and guided him safely away from danger.

That unfortunate dog faced extreme neglect, with his fur completely tangled and obstructing his vision.

Unable to see clearly due to the matting covering his eyes, he was in desperate need of help.

The dedicated rescue team gently placed him into their vehicle before transporting him safely to a shelter for care and recovery.

A Warm Welcome at the Shelter

Upon reaching the shelter, Shrimp was welcomed with prompt attention as his matted and filthy fur was carefully removed by the staff.

This young pup had not yet experienced a nurturing atmosphere, leaving him anxious and unable to settle down.

Concerned for his safety during grooming, it was determined that light sedation would be necessary to ensure he felt calm throughout the process.

During a thorough examination, it was discovered by the veterinarians that Shrimp had developed a fistula connecting his mouth and nasal passages.

Following his grooming session and medical assessment, the moment for his bath arrived at last!

A Fresh Start Awaits

Upon learning about his situation, the dedicated team at SAFE Rescue decided to provide a nurturing foster home for this lovable puppy, ensuring he received proper care during his recovery. Shrimp is flourishing in an environment filled with affection and attention.

In just a few short weeks, he has blossomed into the most vibrant and energetic pup imaginable! Now, the only step remaining is finding him a permanent loving family that will fill his life with joy, warmth, and snuggles.

Of course, tasty meals are essential too since mealtime brings him immense happiness!
